Wednesday-August 15

Tuesday night was spent at a very nice hostel.  It was located in the country and had a peaceful atmosphere to it.  The accomendations of having a shower and restroom in your own room was extremely luxurious after staying two nights at a hostel where the restrooms were located down the hallway.

Anyway, Wednesday morning we were served an amazingly big breakfast which included hot food and not just a tray of meat, cheese, tomatoes, and cucumbers and of course bread.  We left for Warsaw around 9:00 where our last program on our second tour was held.  The energy level of the choir was steadily sinking as the craziness level continued to drastically rise.  But we managed to have around 2 hours of quiet time on the bus in which most of us took the opportunity to enjoy some extra sleep!

We made it to Warsaw an hour or two ahead of schedule and had the unusual priviledge of having a relaxed afternoon outside the bus.  Before our free time, Laverne and two of his girls and their friend brought us an amazing lunch.  It felt like such a long time since we had been with them and it was so gread to see them again!  Some of us spent the afternoon bumping volleyball in a courtyard between apartment buildings where we got quite a few questioning stares in our direction. J  But we of course were enjoying ourselves and didn’t take the time to tell everyone in passing that we were not bumping volleyball with nuns!  Others spent the hour sleeping, reading, or by studying the map of Poland to get a more educated estimate of kilometers covered during our tours.  There is a prize going to be given to the person who guessed the nearest the amount of kilometers we traveled.

Our program that evening was held outdoors behind the church.  The church was using our program as an outreach to the apartment buildings around it.  A few of us guys helped to carry chairs outside to the waiting crowd and you could feel the anticipation from the people.  The program went well besides the fact that it was a tad on the cold and windy side and couldn’t hear much of yourself or the rest of the choir but Lloyd said it went ok.

The folks at the church then served us hot tea and coffee with pasteries which we gladly received since our fingers and toes were about numb.  For supper we had decided to go to Pizza Hut, your welcome Ria J, which we enjoyed!  We returned to Gustav’s around 11:00pm which is so exciting and you can see it on the choir members faces because we finally return “home”.  Most went to bed soon after returning home because of recording tomorrow.

Thanks so much for reading!

God Bless!
