Day 9 – Wednesday, July 27

Wednesday began with breakfast (prepared by an elder and his wife) at the church in Palowice where we’d given a program the night before. After loading up and saying goodbye, we left for Wawrzkowizna.

The two-hour drive brought us to a summer camp that has been converted into temporary housing for Ukrainian refugees. They were very happy to have us there. Singing for the group of about a hundred people was a really good experience; they seemed to connect with the program in spite of language barriers.

From there, we drove about an hour further to Piotrków Trybunalski. We stopped to have a hearty lunch at a Polish restaurant before going down the street to the church where we were to give our second program of the day. Again, the church people were very happy to have us, and we enjoyed singing for them.

In the evening after the program, we loaded everything in the bus and returned to our base at Gustaw’s. We got back quite late, but it felt good to have our first tour complete safely and without any major hitches.
