Day 4 – Friday, July 22

Loveliness. Logistics. Laughter.

Loveliness- our day dawned early and cloudless with happy birds in the birches outside our windows as we sipped coffee and listened to piano music before rehearsal began. Rehearsal was work, like always, but also loveliness today as the dynamics and interpretation and diction came together in our last concert prep. Such joy in the caress of the chord that ends Alas! And Did My Savior Bleed…

Logistics- this day was also the day to put together our standing arrangements for tour and lots of other little details. We even performed outside for awhile which made us truly grateful for the acoustics of our ususal echoey, exceedingly-cozy upper room. Exchanging currency, folding programs, ironing green dresses, packing… Details.

Laughter- we seem to be blessed with a very jolly crew. Also rather loud at mealtimes. And maybe other times. Tomorrow we will leave our palace of Gustav’s for awhile, and we are looking forward to offering ourselves, vessels of clay, your servants for Jesus’ sake.
