Day 12 – Saturday, July 30

Today our Bus left Gustavs retreat center to go rollicking toward the northern end of Poland. We had quite a day of travel! It was a chilly and grey day with bouts of gentle rain. We stopped at a rest area for delicious taco salad and cookies from our kind tour coordinators. Thank you Lizzie, Kristin Jewel and Curt!

We got to our destination of Janikowo around three and began earnestly belting out our rehearsal. The church was a simple country church used for ammunition during communist times! The walls still leach chemicals and has to be repainted every year! We also discovered the walls would latch onto our clothing when leaned against, so we generally tried to avoid brushing against them! The small audience was interested and engaged. Quite a few recorded the event. They seemed very grateful for the encouragement they said they received. They fed us lusciously smoked sausages from the grill. Honestly the best I have ever had! It is such an amazing feeling to be unable to speak each other’s language and yet, be able to feel the warmth and connection of fellow believers. May Gods kingdom continue to grow in Poland.
